Matsuuuuuuuu!

Last night Daddy and I took you to our favorite restaurant, Matsu. It is here that Daddy took me when we began dating. I will always remember the first time at Matsu. I remember exactly where we sat and I remember how excited I was to be sitting there with your daddy. I had ordered shrimp tempura which I had never had before. It was amazing and I ate every single morsel. When I was finished Daddy looked at my plate and looked puzzled. He asked me where my shrimp tails had gone. Shrimp tails? I had no idea that they still had tails! So I had eaten them. And to be quite honest, they seemed just fine. A bit crunchy, but fine. So that night I learned that you are not suppose to eat shrimp tails. We had a good laugh about it and we still bring it up to this day.

So it is really special when we return here now, with you. We get to share our favorite restaurant. It is no longer just the two of us....a couple. It is the three of us...our family. Before we left, I told you that we were taking you to a big girl restaurant so you had to wear a big girl outfit and act like a big girl the whole time. So I dressed you in a white collar shirt that Daddy had gotten you and some jeans.

When we got there you walked in and the first thing that you said was, "It's dark in here." It is quite a dark restaurant. But you were really well behaved. You played quietly with markers and stickers.

When the appetizer came, you used your chopsticks to pick up the fried calamari(which we told you was chicken). At first you used two hands but then you came up with the bright idea to stab the fish in order to get it into your mouth. At one time you had one calamari on each chopstick. Classic!

Daddy and I are so happy that you enjoy our favorite restaurant. Thanks for being such an amazing little girl. We love you.

First Dance Class

My friend Katie called a few weeks ago and mentioned that her daughter Hailey was taking a dance class. A ballet, tap, tumbling combo. I thought to myself, "that is something that Natalie would love to do." So I bought you a cute little ballet outfit, ballet shoes, and tap shoes.

Two weeks ago was your first class. We walked in a little early and you were spotted by a little girl named Catalina from your preschool. She ran up to you and gave you a big hug.

It was so fun to watch you try and copy the teacher and all your friends. You reached your little arms high to the sky, you rolled your shoulders, you tapped your feet, and you pranced on your little tippy toes. The whole time you had a big ol' grin on your face. Complete and shear happiness. Which makes a mommy happy. I love you my little ballerina

Here is a little video clip of the class. So cute!

Aquarium Fun

Over the weekend, you and I went to the Long Beach Aquarium with the Doorn family. You had such a wonderful time. You enjoyed this adventure much more than Sea World. It may have something to do with the lack of dolphins and lack of splash zone…………which you absolutely did NOT LIKE. You and Tyler were fascinated with all the fish tanks and the beautiful creatures swimming around.

Tyler couldn't keep his hands off of you! So adorable!!

You sat and watched the Sea Lions for quite a while.

You even tried to touch one.

Your favorite part of the day was the fishing boat outside.

Thanks for such a fun day!

Princess and Prince for a Day

Yesterday you saw our wedding photos on the mantel. You pointed to me and said, "Mommy, you are a princess." Then you pointed to Daddy and said, "And Daddy's the prince." I guess we were for one wonderful day.

Back to Work...Boo Hoo

Today I had to return to work after the best summer ever! I'm going to be honest, it was difficult. There may have been tears. I am going to miss getting up in the morning and snuggling on the couch, spending the afternoons swimming in the pool, and pretty much just spending time with you. I wish things were different and I could stay home with you. Every moment with you is special. Now that I am back at work, I am going to have to have to make the best of the shorter time we have together.

Your preschool is closed both today and tomorrow. Fortunately your Grandma Laura was able to watch you while I was at work. By the looks of it you had a wonderful day!! I knew it would go perfectly when Grandma began playing Polly Pockets with you first thing. They happen to be your favorite toy right now.

When I got home you were napping so I went in to check on you. I missed you so much and couldn't wait to see your sweet face. You were in your room........yet not in your bed. You had crawled out and were taking every single stuffed animal out of your toy bucket. So I walked in to give you a great big hug and the first thing you did was hold up two matching puppies and say, "I gotta show grandma." You must have had a great time with her!! I eventually got my hug and we played with all the toys that were ALL OVER YOUR ROOM.
